Filipinos worldwide are celebrating yet another milestone as the rising global girl group BINI took to the stage for their debut performance at this year’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival 2026.

The 45-minute set at the Mojave Stage on the festival’s opening day showcased the group’s latest releases alongside fan favourites, but with a fresh twist. Hits like “Pantropiko” (“Tropical”) and “Cherry On Top” were reimagined, offering long time fans a new perspective on these songs in a live setting. Positioned between Slayyyter’s debut and Central Cee’s performance and BINI delivered a masterclass of Filipino talent, combining intricate choreography, flawless live vocals, and a vibrant stage presence that captivated the global audience.

Coachella, are you  having a great time? We love the energy, but first and foremost, Mabuhay, we are BINI!” greeted by Jhoanna, opening thee set with the group signature welcome.  “We are thrilled to represent the Philippines on a stage like this and share our music with the world. Mahal namin kayo, mga Blooms! (We love you, Blooms!)” added Aiah.

Midway through the set, Maloi reflected on the experience. “Being here with all of you is the sweetest treat of our journey — the cherry on top so far.” Mikha also engaged the audience, demonstrating the group signature “Eyyy!” gesture and how the ‘hang loose’ sign hold different meanings in  Filipino culture. As the performance concluded, the group expressed their gratitude “Maraming Salamat, Blooms!” (Thank you, Blooms!) with a crowd chant “Isa pa! Isa pa!” (One more time! One more time!).

The full setlist for BINI’s Mojave Stage performance (Week One) was as follows:

  • “Shagidi”
  • “Zero Pressure”
  • “Out Of My Head”
  • “Karera”
  • “Salamin, Salamin”
  • “Blink Twice”
  • “Cherry On Top (Remix)”
  • “Blush”
  • “Bikini”
  • “Pantropiko (Remix)”

JULIENNE (entertainment writer): When BINI revealed that they were practising a set that lasted for more than 40 minutes, I was a bit worried; not because they lack talent, obviously not. But more than 40 minutes of performance with hardly any breaks in between would be intimidating and exhausting for anyone. They’ve toured but at least concerts usually have guest performers and reasonably long breaks in between.

They really killed it, though. Colet is always stable, and her live vocals sounded booming, clear, and powerful, totally unsurprising. Her high notes in “Zero Pressure” were amazing. Maloi puts her entire soul into singing live too. My favourite vocal moment of hers was her “Cherry on Top” high notes, also my favourite Maloi moment from BINIverse London. That’s definitely her “killing part.”

But we both agreed that Gwen really improved, right? Her singing style used to be super airy and soft. She didn’t seem to have as much stamina as the others before. She was projecting really well at Coachella, though. She’s been improving for the past few years, and it’s awesome that the whole world can hear the payoff. Her belts were so strong.

ANDROS (news reporter): The kickoff performance of BINI at Coachella has a indeed significant impact on the Philippines. They shouldn’t just called the “Nation’s Girl Group”, they should be recognised as a “Southeast Asian Group”, since they’re now representing Southeast Asian boy and girl groups, opening for new acts to shine—not just in the Philippines, but across Southeast Asia.

The transformation outfits of “Zero Pressure” and “Shagidi” are phenomenal and Ica Villanueva nailed again. She never disappoints me when it comes to outfits.

But you know, during that 40 minutes performance while observing the crowd—and this is also applies to all Coachella performance this week, it felt like I was watching WrestleMania 40 or even the January 4, 1999, episode of RAW with The Rock vs. Mankind, when “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s entrance music hits and the crowd suddenly erupts. That’s exactly the kind I felt during BINI’s performance. We are witnessing a moment that will be discussed for years to come. Their being a first Filipino act in Coachella is undeniable and cannot be removed from the history books. As the BINI members are growing older and may eventually retire—but their contributions to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and P-Pop will remain etched in history. I hope that future generations will come to appreciate the richness of the Philippine music and culture.

On other related news, their debut appearance coincides with the release of their third extended play Signals, which was released on 10 April of 2026. The new record features the track of “Blush”, and follows the release of its earlier singles “Unang Kilig” and “Honey Honey”. They are also set to perform the album for a special showcase at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, and were selected by Billboard Philippines as the recipients of the Global Force award at Billboard‘s Women In Music on 30 April. The music video for “Blush” directed by Jireh Christian Bacasno has already surpassed one million views while their monthly listeners on Spotify have exceeded the two million streams. On Coachella’s official Instagram account, a video reel featuring BINI has amassed more than 30 million views drawing comparisons with posts from global artists such as Justin Bieber.

Meanwhile, Senator of the Philippines Bam Aquino has called on the Senate to formally recognise the group for their achievement, describing them as the first P-pop act to perform at Coachella and for “bringing pride and honour to the Philippines”. In filing proposed Senate Resolution No. 370, Aquino characterised the performance as a “historic milestone” and “pave the way”. noting that Coachella is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and highest-grossing music festivals in the world. He also added that BINI’s “pioneering performance” could help drive the continued growth of Philippine pop music and open further opportunities for Filipino artists on the global stage. Fans noticed on Friday, 17 April, that searching “BINI” on Google produced eight “eyyy” emojis or “shaka sign” at the top of the result page.
