My full name is… Nikhita Lesler.
My birthday is on… 1st March! Pisces gang!
How do you identify... Just Nix.

Three words my friends would use to describe me are… I would say entertaining for sure, kind and thoughtful.
My favourite place in the world is… I love it at my Nani’s garden. It’s a really big open space with lots of different parts to it. I have many happy childhood memories there and I still enjoy going in there with my Nani today.
One thing you must know about me is… I am quite straight talking: that’s defo my east London upbringing! (Cheers mum and dad).
One surprising thing about me is… I’m actually really strong. I can leg press 4X my own body weight (shoutout to my PT Tessa Stannard!)
Something I can’t live without is… Can’t live without my dog and my parents. They’re my biggest supporters and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
My favourite meal is… Hands down my Nani’s homemade chicken curry!
My favourite thing from working on ENG-ER-LAND is… Getting to explore the mixed heritage South Asian experiences with Hannah’s incredible writing. There are sooo many “omg me too! I thought this was just me” moments in this piece! That’s been really exciting.
What I hope resonates the most with the audience from ENG-ER-LAND is… I hope it reflects on both the struggle and the joy I think most people of mixed heritage can identify with. And all the many many magical things that come with belonging to multiple different cultures.
One behind-the-scenes fun fact or story from ENG-ER-LAND is… We haven’t actually started rehearsals but during our filming for our trailer Hannah and I were given quick fire questions – during this I confused Theatre play for football play – it did make us laugh!

A song I would recommend right now is… I’ve recently got into Panjabi music: G.O.A.T by Diljit Dosanjh is defo up there on the playlist!
A TV show/movie I would recommend right now is… I’m late on the bandwagon but I just watched Baby Reindeer! Defo a hard but brilliant watch.
The last dream I had was… On stage and not knowing what I’m doing or where I am so having to improv… classic actor nightmare!
One piece of advice I would give my younger self is… Nix, you’re gonna be doing stuff you’re still dreaming about. Stay calm, love every bit of who you are and trust in those around you who bring your vibe up. PS: carrots taste nicer with age…
What I love most about my heritage is… The thing I love most about my heritage is the mix of cultures, colours and customs. The values these have taught me and how connected I feel to both of these special worlds makes me feel very blessed.
You’re in a zombie apocalypse; what is your weapon of choice, and why? Oooh, defo a pen knife. Think I could Bear Grylls my way around for a few days.
To me, diversity means… To me, diversity means everyone being able to see themselves represented in some sort of way. To be able to feel like nothing is impossible.
