HITGS Showcase Their Youth In Debut EP “Things We Love : H”

Girl groups have been taking over K-Pop. In the past few years, many have debuted with their own sound and have earnt a loyal fanbase from across the world. The newest group hoping to follow that legacy is HITGS.

HITGS is set to debut under H Music Entertainment, home to groups like WOOAH and DXMON. While HITGS might not have had the pre-debut exposure that many groups have utilized when debuting under the big companies, they have a strong team behind them.

One of the company’s CEOs is Kim Kang-hyo, a name known to many K-Pop fans. The CEO worked for Starship Entertainment for 17 years and was a main player in the creation, production, and management of groups like MONSTA X, WJSN, CRAVITY, and IVE. The group’s producer is Ryan S. Jhun, another prominent figure in K-Pop who has written songs for hit groups like SHINee, EXO, IVE, and many more. HITGS are definitely in good hands, working with people who know the industry perfectly.

The group might have had appearances in the past, including Seoul Fashion Week 2025, and are working with legendary names, but it all counts on debut.

Ahead of the debut, concept photos gave fans a taste of what they could expect from the members, and the identity already seemed solid. With the members being so young, the photos oozed youth and the feeling of being carefree, with photos on the beach. The individual images are made to show off the members’ visuals:

Furthermore, the group photos stand out the most by giving a glimpse of the chemistry and dynamic within the group:

HITGS has just come out with Things We Love : H, a two-song EP.

At first listen, the title track “Sourpatch” gives off vibes similar to NJZ, especially when it comes to the instrumental introduction. Upon repeating the track, HITGS show their own colours. The members’ voices are much higher and brighter, making the whole song feel light and airy. The subtle beat creates something energetic and catchy, which blends perfectly with the softness of the members’ voices. By having a repetitive beat and chorus, it is easy to remember, which will benefit the group greatly when it comes to having an impact on fans. While listening to the melody, while it is modern, some moments feel nostalgic, with classic 90s girl group vibes.

The video also screams youth, with pastel colours and an array of fun sets to build a narrative. Each member shines in their own way, and the small details create a fantasy world that play into the group’s identity.

Compared to the first song, “Never Be Me” showcases a more diverse music style and even feels more mature,  although the members’ voices keep the same tone. Despite the innocent vibes of the members, the use of a synth and a unique instrumental adds more depth and grit while keeping the overall image of youth and lightness. Like “Sourpatch,” the track repeats the title throughout the lyrics. It has the ability to get stuck in your head, which is something that will be vital, especially in the age of short-form content and TikTok.

The group seems perfect for people who are fans of fifth-generation girl groups, as there is a heavenly and angelic vibe to the songs, giving off something bright and ethereal in contrast to girl crush concepts that were once popular.

Although the K-Pop market has been accused of being over-saturated, girl groups are thriving, especially those with a youthful and bright concept like HITGS. The group might not have the “nepotism” and advantages other groups have seen by debuting under a well-known company. But with their own talented sunbaes and an experienced team working with them, success might not be a far-off dream.

Things we love : H is out now. HITGS can be found on X here and on all streaming platforms.
