ICYMI: ALAMAT’s “Destino Vocal Performances” Film Is a Musical and Visual Treat

Uploaded on YouTube on 25 December 2025, ALAMAT’s Destino Vocal Performances film was the perfect gift for Magiliws (fans of the group’s music).

It goes above and beyond the typical “special live performance clip.” It’s directed by Justin Ong, with art direction by Lana Erin Ramos. They keep the sets simple as the group croons songs from their album Destino (Destination), shooting at the Los Komunidad café and Ora Ora Tapsilogan restaurant in Angeles, Pampanga. (It’s the home province of ALAMAT’s Jao, who is shown celebrating his 23rd birthday in advance during filming.)

But the direction, cinematography, and editing elevate the simple arrangements. The 26-minute video looks vibrant, luxurious, and cinematic—an actual, honest-to-goodness film. Sound engineer Carl Deang doesn’t shy away from the imperfections in the group’s singing either. Their vocals sound crisp but raw, not robotic.

Their best vocal moments feel genuinely rewarding when you know you’re listening to real voices without excessive pitch correction, an issue unfortunately rife in the pop world. From the hip-hop sensibilities of its opener “LuzViMinda” to the soft rock rhythms of the closing ballad “Sa’Yo Pa Rin Uuwi” (I’ll Still Come Home To You), Destino Vocal Performances is a visual and sonic treat.

Perhaps this film was also foreshadowing for the group’s actor era. As of this week, all six members of ALAMAT are gearing up for acting projects.

Taneo is set to appear as Ryosuke Sato, Yuri’s rival, in the now-airing Ang Mutya ng Section E (The Jewel of Section E) series two. Tomás will star as Gilbert in Bagets the Musical starting on 23 January, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Mo and R-Ji will portray Spade Clifford and Jacob Lee respectively in the crime romance programme My Husband is a Mafia Boss.

On 16 January, VivaOne uploaded the teaser for the horror programme Hell University, which confirmed that Jao (as Onel Ty) and Alas (in a yet-to-be-disclosed role) are a part of the cast. The standout Destino track “LuzViMinda” is in the soundtrack too. Hell University was originally scheduled to premiere on 10 January, but its release date was pushed to 6 February.
