The London Anime & Gaming Con brought its signature joy and fandom enthusiasm back to the city from the 29th – 31st of August 2025. held from August 29 to 31, 2025, at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith.
Organised by Animeleague, the convention brings a much-needed celebration of all things connected to Japanese, Korean, Chinese and wider East Asian popular culture, with many cosplayers and families choosing to visit as part of a fun day out.
As usual, the Novotel London West provided a spacious setting for the convention, with plenty of quiet rooms to ensure that people could rest and tap out from the busier frenzy of the main floor and Artist Alley. Stricter queues were put into place this time around to help with organisation, and clear signage made it easy to navigate.
Notable guests popped up for the event including Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld (known for her role as Nurse Joy in Pokémon), SJ Harris, and Chloe Eves, as well as VTubers like Kuromiya Lucien and LillianaQuinn, and live music from artists such as LELE and Shao Dow. For those seeking to catch top artists in the space, there was plenty to keep visitors engaged.
As usual, part of the joy of visiting the convention was the great variety of cosplay to be seen from attendees of all ages. The usual cosplay competitions gave attendees the chance to appreciate the wide range of fandoms, craftsmanship and passion on offer, and it is always a great delight to see the deep love fans have for their favourite franchises and characters.
The wide range of exhibitors and merchandise is always a notable mainstay of the weekend, including exclusive anime collectibles, artwork, and accessories. Artists’ Alley is a treasure trove of unknown talent, featuring independent creators who showcased their handmade prints and accessories. No matter what you’re a fan of, you’re sure to find someone who has made something that celebrates your passion.
Gaming enthusiasts had access to a variety of tabletop games and card games on the top floor, from retro gaming setups to more modern consoles. For the e-sports fans in attendance, gaming tournaments were on offer, leaving many in awe of the skills of the players on offer, whilst still keeping the atmosphere friendly.
For several years now, the London Anime & Gaming Con 2025 brings anime and fandom joy to London, and during a time when joy seems in short supply, it is always very welcome to see and feel such a gathering of happy and excited fans and families in the capital. For any anime or cosplay fans who are considering giving the convention a visit, it comes with a hard recommend.
