Moana is a story about family, born and chosen, and community. At her heart, Moana wants to help the people she loves. Here are five things to catch in the trailer:
1. Moana 2 will expand on what the viewers already love about the story and introduce more residents of the island
This allows viewers to see more about the growth and changes Moana has brought since the first movie came out in 2016. With the sequel, the audience will hopefully get a lot more of what we already know and love.
2. Based on the trailer, Moana gets a call from the wayfinding ancestors and will again need help from Maui
This time, more travelers will be coming with Moana. By expanding the world, viewers will get to see Moana being a leader to her village and how they feel interacting with her.
3. People will again get to see the Kakamora, a fan favorite from Moana
It should be fun to instead see Moana being taken out this time with the blow darts, and Maui may finally get to laugh if he is not in the direct line of the darts like he was in the previous movie.
4. Moana being an older sister
The audience will get to see Moana share her knowledge and Moana’s sister may make the mission seem even more dangerous. In the first movie, Moana was worried for her parents and her village. A sibling brings new excitement to an already exciting story.
5. The music
The first Moana had some songs that have now become Disney classics; you cannot walk past a daycare without hearing “You’re Welcome” at least once a week. As with the first movie, fans should expect to hear more Polynesian inspired songs that will be played on repeat.
Disney will release Moana 2 from 27th November, 2024. The cast includes Auli’i Cravalho returning as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui.
