Third generation K-Pop boy group MONSTA X have kicked off their 10th anniversary with a bang: their latest release, mini-album THE X, has shattered the group’s own record for first-day album sales.
According to Hanteo Chart updates, THE X sold 269,750 copies within the first 24 hours of release. Their previous record was set in 2022 with mini-album Shape of Love, which sold 171,874 copies.
Having been active for a decade, MONSTA X have seemingly weathered the slump that can often come when groups have to take a break due to military enlistment. Instead, these sales figures suggest that their momentum is only continuing to grow, with a commercial peak being no mean feat for a group so long in the tooth.
As the six-member group look to take their place in the K-Pop landscape once more, and given that only member I.M remains yet to enlist, fans and casual listeners alike will no doubt be keen to see what further heights the group continue to scale.
