NMIXX Are The Moment: BST Hyde Park Review

There was a moment, as the six-member group called NMIXX went from Olivia Rodrigo’s “good 4 u” to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” to finally “Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis, that one might feel that you were seeing a true moment: one where Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin completely made the crowd in Hyde Park their own.

Hot off performing in Milan mere days before, the girl group brought their signature brand of mixxpop to UK shores for the first time and kicked things off to much aplomb with “TANK” and “DICE” before going into much beloved deep cut “Run For Roses”. The group’s strong vocal prowess and tight dance formations are well known by both fans and casuals alike and it was with these strong abilities that they took to The Great Oak Stage with relentless energy and enthusiasm.

It was a pleasure to hear clear vocals from all the members throughout the concert and seeing them breathe new life into the studio recordings of their tracks notably highlighted their technical skill as vocalists and performers. Though the group only debuted in 2022, they performed with as much confidence and energy of a group a generation above, and it was to the disappointment of the crowd that their forty minute set came to an end so quickly.

The group spoke to the crowd at several points throughout the set and even performed a new song “Moving On” for the crowd. As they finally ended their set on “Love Me Like This”, it felt as though the girls could not return to the UK soon enough. NMIXX are yet to tour Europe, and if both the crowd that showed up for them and those fantastic performances were any indication, they will be welcomed back to these shores with open arms.

NMIXX is on Instagram, Twitter and all major streaming platforms.
