If you attended Lollapalooza Berlin, you would have undoubtedly crossed paths with a SEVENTEEN fan. Although the group wasn’t set to perform until the second day of the festival, many CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fans) made the most of the beautiful weather and enjoyed both days of the festival. On Sunday, it finally became CARAT Land, with fans showcasing their love for the group with their outfits, accessories, and energy. With the peak temperature hitting 32 degrees, fans didn’t let the heat impact their excitement for seeing SEVENTEEN perform.
As the minutes ticked away, the atmosphere outside heated up while the weather cooled down, and fans really got into the mood as “Maestro” started blaring. Videos of Mingyu backstage showed his shock at the sheer size of the crowd but also the number of CARATs singing along to the group’s newest release. After hours of waiting, everyone was still in full form, but finally the wait was over as the stage came to life.

The members were met with deafening, but welcoming screams as they made their first appearance. For many fans, this was their first time seeing the group perform as it was only their second ever performance in Europe. It was hard not to notice the members looking in awe at the endless sea of CARATs that had come to watch them live. As they got into performance mode, the crowds continued to scream their lungs out as the opening bars of “SUPER” started and Woozi rose up to sing his first notes.
“SUPER” is always the best and most common way to start a SEVENTEEN concert, but the group was anything but predictable. While crowds got to hear well-known tracks such as “Rock With You” and “Left & Right,” they changed it up by playing some fan-favourites, including “Don Quixote” and “Darl+ing.” The different style and tempo of each song showcased how versatile SEVENTEEN are as performers, along with Woozi’s amazing producing skills.
After the crowd was warmed up, even though many had been ready all day, the setlist took a new turn. One of the advantages of so many members is the different combinations and formations of the group. Like all SEVENTEEN performances, the members split into their subunits to really showcase each person’s personality.
The vocal unit brought the emotions with their nostalgic track “Cheers to Youth,” the performance unit brought the sexiness with “Spell,” and the Hip Hop unit brought the attitude with “Fire.” In particular, fans present and online were shocked to see two additional subunit performances. BSS (Seungkwan, Hoshi, and DK) sang their hit song “Fighting,” while the Leaders (S.Coups, Woozi, and Hoshi) tore the house down with the iconic track “Cheers” before being joined by the rest of the group.
While unit performances are always present in SEVENTEEN shows, the appearance of BSS and Leaders was something fans don’t get to see often and was an exciting addition for fans.

As all the members joined the Leaders for the iconic “Cheers” moment, it was back to the full group discography. Unfortunately, it was not quite the full group coming back as Jun was absent due from Berlin to other commitments. While fans were adamant that Jun’s presence could never be replaced, the members kept the energy high, as if their thirteenth member was really there.
The sun had started to set and the temperature was cooling down, but the members stayed hot as they played some more of their hit songs. The entire setlist was the perfect mixture of the old and new from SEVENTEEN, showing their diversity and how much they’ve evolved as a group. The 2017 track “Clap” was worlds away from “HOT” which was released in 2022, and that was even more different from the 2024 track “Maestro.” There was even the addition of the English track “SOS.” While it was released in 2023, something about the lyrics felt relevant to the current situation of the world, with the desire to bring hope and safety not only to CARATs but those across the world. While SEVENTEEN are known for being “Performance Masters,” their ability to put on meaningful stages is something that shouldn’t be underestimated.
One moment in particular stood out and made both the group and fans emotional, as the members started to wrap up the show and made their closing statements: being one of the oldest members of the group, Jeonghan is set to enlist for his military service very soon. At one point, as he started to thank the fans, the crowds started chanting his name. As they went into “Headliner,” it felt like a moment when the group and fans truly became one as they sang in unison. By following it with the heartwarming “Together” and then the upbeat “God of Music,” it seemed like SEVENTEEN were taking fans on an emotional rollercoaster that many didn’t want to get off.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end.
While there aren’t many things certain in life, one thing that CARATs can be sure of is that no SEVENTEEN concert is complete without an endless “AJU NICE” finale. As The8 introduced the final song in the witty way only SEVENTEEN can, it felt like the energy from the crowd turned up another notch. CARATs and attendees were jumping along with SEVENTEEN as they sang and danced to an infinite crowd. Every time the song seemingly finished, fans knew otherwise. The song went on for just over 10 minutes: the traditional way to end a SEVENTEEN concert. CARATs were left feeling truly satisfied that they had the full experience, after waiting for so many years.
It was tough to see the members finally leaving the stage, but the buzz continued as CARATs discussed the show and were still on a high from the energy SEVENTEEN gave for 90 minutes. Though the heat had been scorching all weekend, it was all forgotten as the members performed and created memorable moments for the fans. Even those attendees who had no idea who SEVENTEEN were won’t be forgetting the group’s performance any time soon.
