Hi Queenz Eye! To kick off with: what are all your personal favourite songs on PRISM EP.01?
Won Chae: I love all our songs, but these days I think “ACHA!” is my favorite! It feels perfect on humid or hot days. Especially when we dance, there are so many moments where I make eye contact with the members, feel the energy, and just have fun together. I think that’s why “Acha” feels even more lively and exciting to me!
Ah Yoon: For me, it has to be “TRIPPIN’” since it’s like my own child. I was involved in composing and writing the lyrics from start to finish, so I feel even more attached to it. I put my heart and soul into making it, so it’s the undisputed number one in my heart and my favorite song ever.
Kiirii: “TRIPPIN”. It’s completely my style and also Ah Yoon unnie made it herself, and I love it so much.
Seo Vin: I would say “ACHA!” The dance is really cute and fun, so it makes you excited while performing it. The bridge has this uplifting, soaring feeling, and that part is my favorite!
Jin Yul: I love all three tracks, but my favorite has to be the B-side track “ACHA!” It’s so refreshing and fun to listen to in summer, and I get so pumped listening to it on my way to schedules with my headphones in! I hope everyone can feel that same energy from “ACHA!” too!
Seo Ha: My favorite song is “ACHA!” The other two tracks are really great too, but from the first time I heard “ACHA!”, it really stuck with me. The more I listened, the more it made me imagine a refreshing summer beach, and it has that bright, fun vibe I love, so that’s why it’s my favorite.

To the newest members to join the group, how does it feel to be fresh on the scene?
Has having original members who were already in the group helped you to feel more confident than you perhaps would if you were all stepping into the unknown?
Kiirii: At first, I was really happy to debut, and it felt even more reassuring to have Ah Yoon unnie and Won Chae unnie with me. The unnies helped me a lot.
Seo Vin: I’m so happy to debut. So much that I want to find a word bigger than “happy” to describe it. Even though every first experience feels unfamiliar and awkward, being with the unnies gives me a lot of strength. The unnies help me in so many ways, and thanks to them, our team feels even stronger. I want us to keep growing together and show even better sides of ourselves.
Jin Yul: I’m so excited to step into a world where I can chase my dreams, and I can’t wait to see how much I’ll grow from here! (hehe) Having the unnies by my side makes me feel even more secure, and no matter where I go, my confidence will never go down!
Seo Ha: I was so excited I could hardly believe I was finally able to show on stage what I’ve always dreamed of, and at the same time I was full of worries. Luckily, the original Queenz Eye members Won Chae unnie and Ah Yoon unnie gave me advice about everything I didn’t know much about. They calmed my ‘can I really do this?’ nerves and gave me confidence, and the thought that ‘Unnies are right here with me!’ helped me feel even a little bit more confident.

The name PRISM EP.01 teases that there will be at least one more EP in the series. What is the general theme and message of “PRISM” that you’re hoping to carry across with your music?
Ah Yoon: Queenz Eye’s ‘PRISM’ is a series album. Since this is PRISM EP.01, literally the very first start, we wanted to show Queenz Eye’s new beginning. Through the word PRISM, we also wanted to express that all six of our members shine with their own unique charms and colors.
Your voices are all absolutely flawless. How do you prepare and look after your vocal chords before recording an album, and performing on stage?
Won Chae: I tend to avoid caffeine and any acidic foods that might irritate my throat. I keep drinking warm water, and I try to drink herbal tea as often as possible. I also make sure to loosen up my body along with taking care of my throat, and I do stretching exercises to loosen my vocal cords. Raising my body temperature a little is also a good method!
Seo Ha: I make sure to drink plenty of water so my throat doesn’t get too dry, and I avoid anything irritating like spicy food or carbonated drinks. I also sometimes wear a scarf to protect my throat.
Seo Ha, as the maknae, you have a large age gap between yourself and the other members. How have they, as older sister figures, helped you to grow both literally and as an artist?
Seo Ha: They know the entertainment industry better than I do, so they give me little pieces of advice that are useful in this field. They also have stronger skills than me in certain parts, so if there’s something I don’t know during practice, they always teach me. I think all of that has really helped me grow.

If you could all steal a talent or obscure skill from another member, what would it be and why?
Seo Vin: I want to steal Ah Yoon unnie’s speed. Whenever we have to submit or do something together, Ah Yoon unnie is always the fastest. Since I’m slower with my hands, it’s a talent I really envy!
Jin Yul: I want to steal Ah Yoon unnie’s ability to remember memes! She remembers all the trending or funny ones and sometimes imitates them. I’m always amazed at how she remembers everything, and it’s so funny and entertaining that I really wish I had that skill too haha
In the modern K-Pop era, music challenges with other K-Pop artists are abundant. Is there another idol group or soloist you’d love to collaborate with on a dance challenge for “Feel the Vibe”?
Ah Yoon: I want to collaborate with Key sunbaenim of SHINee. Since I grew up watching SHINee sunbaenim, it would be such an honor to have the chance to dance with them. So if I could do the “Feel the Vibe” dance challenge with SHINee’s Key sunbaenim, it would feel deeply special to me.
Kiirii: As a Thai person, and also because I love her so much, I want to do it with (G)I-DLE’s MINNIE sunbaenim.

To the members who debuted in 2022: how do you feel you’ve grown as artists?
Won Chae: I still have a lot to improve on, but I feel like my perspective has widened a lot, both as a person and as an artist. I’ve also gotten to know myself in more detail.
Having fans made me realize just how much support and love can give power. Thanks to the fans, I feel like I’ve become a kinder, stronger, and warmer person. I like this version of myself, and I think this process has played a big role in boosting my self-esteem. Because of that, I’ve naturally become more confident on stage and more able to enjoy performing! My tastes and the things I like have also expanded, which has naturally broadened my musical perspective as well.
I focused a lot on improving the areas I was lacking in, and I tried to gain new experiences I had missed out on during my trainee days, like experimenting with different genres and activities. I also worked hard to strengthen the areas I was already good at. By experiencing emotions on stage that you can’t feel during practice, I’ve learned to perform with more ease rather than tension, and now I feel like I can really express what I want to do. I’ll continue showing many good sides of myself, so I hope everyone looks forward to what’s coming!
Ah Yoon: First of all I feel like the direction I want to take has become much clearer. When I debuted, I didn’t have the time or space to think about anything beyond the debut song, and there were so many areas where I was lacking. But now, I feel a bit more at ease, and I’ve gained some musical confidence to put my own story into my music.
During the hiatus, I worked really hard and tried to broaden my listening experience, and I think that effort is what gave me this sense of ease now.
Won Chae, your introductory ‘Siren’ part in “Feel the Vibe” is perfect, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the snippet become iconic amongst Queenz Eye fans.
Was this always how the original demo started, when the EP was still in production?
Won Chae: I think the original demo was pretty similar! The first demo had a softer, more whimsical vibe, but I think the final version turned out a bit more intense. Also, since it’s the opening part and the word is “siren”, it naturally gives off a stronger feel. I’m just so grateful that you consider it an iconic part!! I’ll be bringing you more amazing performances of the ‘Siren’ part, so please look forward to them!!

The tropical getaway vibe suits Queenz Eye so well. Do you have any interesting anecdotes on set filming the music video of “Feel the Vibe”?
Jin Yul: The behind-the-scenes moment I remember most from the “Feel the Vibe” music video has to be the night party scene! We were filming the scene where we’re playing with sparklers, laughing and having fun, but as the sparks got closer to our hands, our mouths were smiling but we were actually making freaked-out sounds, haha. Also, the extras in the pool behind us were having so much fun that someone fell off a tube, and we all ended up laughing together!
Seo Ha: On the day of the shoot, we were filming outdoors so it was really hot, and for one of my parts I had a scene where I pick up a slushie and drink it. And the moment I took a sip of the cold slushie, it was so cool and sweet that my mood and energy just immediately shot up.
What would be your dream tropical destination to relax (after the comeback is over, of course)?
Won Chae: I love both the ocean and the mountains, so I want to go to Hawaii! I want to swim and lie down to enjoy the sunlight. And I also know Hawaii has a lot of mountains and national parks, so I want to hike and soak in the nature there.
Seo Vin: I want to go to Thailand, where Kiirii is from. I think it would feel really special if all the members went together to Kiirii’s hometown! I want to visit the neighborhood where Kiirii grew up and definitely go to the island of Koh Samet! I want us all to spend some peaceful and relaxing time together.
What have been your favourite outfits while promoting this comeback?
Ah Yoon: My favorite is the sporty outfit from our album jacket photoshoot. Some members wore basketball uniforms, and we tried out outfits of various colors, and I think the combination of such diverse colors represents our new album the best.
Kiirii: I liked the sporty outfits. It’s a style that I like, and when I wear it I feel more confident.

With one word only, how would you each summarise Queenz Eye’s vibe?
Won Chae: I would use the word “Shooting Star”. When I think of Shooting Star, I get this really colorful and popping image, and the ice cream flavor “Shooting Star” has popping candy in it!
It’s really cute, colorful, bouncy, and kind of flashy, but at the same time, it has an addictive charm and makes you want to taste it again, and I think that fits perfectly with Queenz Eye.
Each member has her own unique charm, so it’s fun to focus on one member at a time, but when we’re together as a team, I want us to be harmonious and grow even stronger together!
Ah Yoon: “Colorful.”All six members have unique personalities and different charms, so I’ve always felt it’s hard to define us with just one color. I chose the word “colorful” because I think it best represents each member’s distinct charm.
Kiirii: Won Chae unnie – “Capable Leader” / Ah Yoon unnie – “Brains of the team” / Kiirii – “In charge of reactions” / Seo Vin – “Happy Virus” / Jin Yul – “Beautiful and Charismatic” / Seo Ha – “Cute maknae”
Seo Vin: I would summarise us as “Mix and Match.” Each of us has our own unique charm, and I’m confident that these different qualities come together harmoniously through our love for music, creating a one-of-a-kind energy on stage that’s truly ours. That energy is our overwhelming charm so I chose this word!
Jin Yul: If I had to describe us in one word, it would be “Rainbow.” Just like a rainbow that appears beautifully after the rain, each of our distinct colors comes together to complete a beautiful rainbow!
Seo Ha: If I had to summarise Queenz Eye’s charm in one word, I think I would choose the word “Chemistry.” I think Queenz Eye has amazing chemistry, whether we’re hanging out or dancing, and this chemistry is very important to us.
What can we, the listeners and your fans, hope to see from the next chapter in your musical journey?
Won Chae: You’ll get to see more of our colorful sides and music, and a more grown-up Queenz Eye. Starting with our first mini album PRISM EP.01, please look forward to the rest of our upcoming releases!
Seo Vin: We will continue to share Queenz Eye’s unique energy. We’ll keep growing and showing you different sides of ourselves, so I hope you look forward to it!
