A first look at the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Street Fighter has been unveiled, with a new trailer and a set of character posters released ahead of its cinema debut on 16 October 2026. The film, backed by Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment in association with Capcom, aims to bring the much loved video game to the big screen.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the project revisits the franchise’s core characters in a classic 90s setting. The story centres on estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo respectively, who are drawn back into combat under unexpected circumstances. Their reunion is orchestrated by Chun-Li, portrayed by Callina Liang, who recruits them for the latest iteration of the World Warrior Tournament.
Live-action adaptations of video games have grown in recent years, and this latest take on Street Fighter seems to lean into both nostalgia and spectacle, hoping to please long-time fans while attempting to reach new audiences. With its blend of martial arts action and high octane fights choreography action and adventure fans will surely be on the lookout for this new film come autumn.
Street Fighter is out on the 16th October 2026.
