Tottenham Hotspur Icon Son Heung-Min Set To Join LAFC in Huge MLS Move

After the annoucement last week that he would leave the club where he has spent a decade of his career, Son Heung‑Min is set to move from Tottenham Hotspur to Los Angeles FC. The South Korean captain most recently helped the North London side win their first trophy in 17 years by winning the Europa League in May 2025 against fellow English side Manchester United.

The transfer is valued at around €15 million, with further add‑ons potentially raising the fee to $20–26 million USD, though none of the latter has yet been confirmed. This would place his move among the highest MLS transfers in history, and Son would immediately become one of the league’s highest‑paid players, alongside global names such as Lionel Messi.

A club legend at Spurs with 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances, Son leaves the club and the Premier League as one of its most appreciated and beloved players, and as one of the most famous Asian footballers to ever play the game.

The move to LAFC would see him reuniting him with former Spurs captain Hugo Lloris, and is a boon not just for the city of Los Angeles, with their significant Korean and Asian population, but for the MLS as a whole.
