If you’re looking to dive deeper into P-Pop beyond the genre’s biggest names, 6ENSE might be a group worth checking out. The six-member boy group returned on 29 May with their comeback single “Piliin Mo Ako” (Choose Me), released under Sony Music Philippines.
At first listen, “Piliin Mo Ako” sounds like the kind of feel-good pop song that easily finds its audience. Built around a catchy melody and upbeat production, the track centres on a simple message, making it an easy listen while its danceable rhythm gives it replay value.
There is also a playful quality to the song that recalls the charm of Filipino boy group VXON’s “Dapat Lang Ako Lang” (It Should Just Be Me). While the two tracks are different, both lean into an upbeat sound and straightforward affection that resonates with Gen Z listeners.

The group’s promotional concept also stood out ahead of the release. 6ENSE unveiled teaser photos inspired by Philippine election campaigns. The concept was both amusing and memorable, making the comeback instantly recognisable among recent P-Pop releases.
Written and conceptualised by group leader Wiji, “Piliin Mo Ako” goes beyond its romantic premise. According to the group’s concept for the release, the song uses the language of love to touch on themes of representation, accountability and choice. What begins as a personal appeal gradually opens itself to broader interpretations.
The music video was released on 1 June which expands on those ideas through its campaign inspired narrative. Much of the production was handled by the members themselves: Wiji served as director, creative director and offline editor, while Axis worked as art director and Caizer handled the choreography. Wardrobe and styling was led by Wiji alongside Francis Takeda.
Using political imagery as its backdrop, it examines the contrast between public promises and lived realities. It reinforces this theme through visuals that draw clear parallels between romantic courtship and political campaigning. They adopt the familiar aesthetics of election season—exaggerating warmth, carefully staged sincerity and playful designs, yet is also unsettling particularly in light of recent political developments.
6ENSE is a P-Pop boy group under N.EXT Entertainment. The group consists of Wiji, Axis, L.A, Ruko, Caizer and Hunter.
