The two rising global groups, BINI and SB19 has been joined the global fan platform Weverse. They announced that BINI will launch on 16 March, with SB19 following on 19 March. The announcement came after teaser images featuring the groups’ silhouettes, alongside a caption pointing to the arrival of two prominent P-Pop acts.
Many fans had already identified the artists from the hints. Their presence on the platform provides both groups with an additional space to engage with supporters and could help extend their reach to a wider, international audience, marking another step for Filipino pop on a global stage.
The president of Weverse Comany, Joon Choi, said the move reflects the platform’s intention to boraden its artist base. “Weverse is delighted to welcome SB19 and BINI as the first P-Pop artists on our platform“, he said. “With artists from the Philippines joining us, we look forward to delivering divers experiences and authentic connections to fans across genres and regions.“, he added.
BINI’s first live broadcast on the platform recorded more than 423,000 cumulative views, with over 174,000 comments and roughly 21 million hearts, based on figures released by the platform. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, leader Jhoanna said the livestream felt unusual as the group introduced themselves to new viewers, particularly those outside the Philippines. The group marked the occasion with a brief celebration shared Filipino street food with viewers, performed a Korean song, and spoke about both Filipino and Korean culture.
Weverse, developed by HYBE, allows artists to interact directly with fans. Other acts on the platform include BTS, ENHYPEN and SEVENTEEN.
