Applause Entertainment, one of India’s leading content studios, has announced their acquistion of exclusive screen rights for six of bestselling author Jeffrey Archer’s most celebrated works. The titles include The Clifton Chronicles, Fourth Estate, First Among Equals, The Eleventh Commandment, Sons of Fortune, and Heads You Win.
The acquisition marks Applause’s first foray into global fiction, adding to its slate of well-known dramas, films, and documentaries. Known for reimagining books and formats into Indian series such as Scam, Criminal Justice, and Rudra, the studio now plans to develop Archer’s political sagas, spy thrillers, and engrossing family dramas into films set to draw in global audiences.
Led by Managing Director Sameer Nair, Applause has found success with the properties on Netflix, Prime Video, and more. Upcoming projects include a biopic series about Mahatma Gandhi.
Jeffrey Archer, whose books have sold over 300 million copies in 115 countries and 49 languages, is the only author in history to have been a number-one bestseller in fiction, short stories, and non-fiction. His latest novel, End Game, will be released on 23rd September, 2025.
