For years, the birth date of Ji-young Yoo, the Korean-American actress who starred in two of 2025’s most talked-about films KPop Demon Hunters (KPDH) and Until Dawn, has gone unconfirmed. Some fans have said that her birth date is 1st January 1999 or 2000. However, Ji-young took to Instagram to reveal that her birthday is actually 22nd July.
In the post, she said, “anyways today is my real birthday don’t believe everything you see on the internet,” pairing her birthday post with a photo of herself as a child. Although they got the date wrong, she nonetheless thanked fans for the “very sweet” birthday greetings back in January.
Considering that all of the interviews stated that she was 24 well before July 2024 and 25 well before July 2025, it is safe to assume her birth date is 22nd July 1999. The editors of her Wikipedia page can rest easy now, as the topic has been hotly debated on the site, especially after KPDH became an Academy Award-winning smash hit.
Ji-young Yoo will star in another K-Pop-themed project soon: the musical drama film K-Pop: The Debut, slated for a February 2027 release.
