On Thursday night, a flurry of rose petals and leopard print, ushered in a celebration of the 1st anniversary of Luvcat’s debut album Vicious Delicious. Amongst the high cabaret setting of the The Box in Soho, London the singer brought the deliciously dark romance of Vicious Delicious to devoted fans, where her magnetic stage presence and natural storytelling brought her musical world alive.
Luvcat is the musical persona of Liverpool-born singer-songwriter Sophie Morgan Howarth, whose darkly romantic pop blends cabaret glamour, gothic storytelling and mischievous humour. Her debut album, Vicious Delicious, brought that world to life in 2025 through tales of obsessive love, fated relationship disasters and tragic drama. Earlier this year, she also dropped the EP Lovebites, which saw new single “Vampire at the Beach”, and the recreation of popular songs of the previous album, including a new version of “He’s My Man”, this time with John Cooper Clarke.

Dedicated fans packed the venue, having sold the exclusive one year anniversary party in mere minutes, and she certainly did not disappoint. Bouncing between “Matador”, “Vampire at the Beach” and “Love & Money”, fans sang along to every word as she graced the stage in a fabulous leopard corset outfit, serving the glamorous femme-fatale style that she’s become well known for.
To the delight of the crowd she also debuted a brand new song, “Mademoiselle”, which led her to tease an upcoming record. Telling the crowd that she had missed performing for them, Luvcat certainly pulled out all the stops in the intimate venue, with rose petals raining down from the skies during the zenith of the show, as well as cabaret dancers bringing Luvcat’s vintage-showgirl chic fully to life.
The 12-song set zipped by in absolutely no time at all, and by the time she reached “Dinner @ Brasserie Zedel”, one of her most beloved tracks, the celebration of the 1st Anniversary of Vicious Delicious was truly realised in full. Luvcat is an artist who is a fireside storyteller through and through, a modern artist who truly enjoys the tactile and immersive nature of creating. Her set at The Box thus brought to fore how she’s an artist whose work genuinely gains new life when seen performed live, pulling the crowd into her own gothic, glittery, sumptuous universe with her interactions and vocal skill.
Her work is unbridled in its joyful viciousness and certainly delicious in its lyricism, and as a result, Thursday was a evening to savour.
