This year, Milan and Paris both held Fashion Week, showcasing some of the best designers from across the world. Here are some of our must-see looks, in no particular order, from the hottest Asian designers in Milan and Paris for this year’s Spring ’27 collections.
1. Mame Kurogouchi
A playsuit in one colour can be risky, as it seems very one-dimensional, yet the use of accessories, pleating at the waist, and the dramatic neckline make sure that isn’t the case. While the design seems simplistic, it is extremely sleek, looking fashionable and classy rather than boring.
2. Mame Kurogouchi
Having a plain black playsuit seems like a staple in every wardrobe. This piece is no different, with the baggier pants and the cinched waist looking more laid-back. The addition of the white overlay on the top adds another visual point and takes it to the next level.
3. Ruohan
The shapeless silhouette of this dress actually works perfectly for the design and intention of the outfit. Seemingly taking inspiration from Ancient Greece, the pleats and folding within the material make the look flow, like water, and the simplicity of the colour allows the design to shine.
4. Onitsuka Tiger
The outfit might seem more casual than other looks at Fashion Week, but it is the unique details and design points that make it couture. While it could easily be worn daily, the interesting cut and fraying of the shorts, along with the low-rise belt, add something extra and make it far from ordinary.
5. Dhruv Kapoor
Suits for men can sometimes feel boring or safe, but Dhruv Kapoor has thrown that out of the window. Not only is the stunning pink extremely bold and eye-catching, but contrasting it with a white design throughout the top and pants only increases the outfit’s impact, especially when pairing a usually formal look with flip-flops.
6. Dhruv Kapoor
Everything about this outfit screams drama and style. At first glance, the balloon-styling of the pants stands out, especially with the small embellishments. But as you move up the outfit, the sheer white top perfectly contrasts with the rest, especially with the sheer base and bold floral design.
7. Uma Wang
An outfit of all cream could be dubbed boring or playing it safe, but the design of this look is the complete opposite. From the ruffles down the dress to the coat overlay, it feels mysterious, especially teamed with the sunglasses. It is the small details of the outfit that are dramatic and impactful.
8. Uma Wang
The elegant, silky material used in this outfit, at first glance, seems more suited to lingerie or pyjamas. Still, the perfect styling and design make it a sophisticated choice for an evening out. While the top and pants are the same colour, the pleating and ruching in the fabric add layers and dimension, emphasising an aura of luxury.
9. Noir Kei Ninomiya
Looking from the bottom up, with the simple tulle skirt as the basis, Ninomiya has created something dramatic and outstanding with bold colours, structures, and materials. Throughout the dress, a rigid metal structure creates a floral web design that stands out against the pops of color.
10. Noir Kei Ninomiya
This dress is one of the most direct references to Alice in Wonderland, using playing cards to create a structured, dramatic, and eye-catching skirt. Contrasting the bold construction with a simpler, more subdued bodice makes the skirt the centre point of the outfit, using black as the canvas to accompany the reds and whites.
11. Noir Kei Ninomiya
In the collection, Ninomiya created pieces full of drama, and this dress perfectly embodies that aura. While many of the other outfits directly match the Alice in Wonderland theme, this one is more abstract, allowing the audience to interpret it as confusion, chaos, or clouded thoughts.
12. Issey Miyake
There is something unique and effective about a well-tailored suit, and this two-piece embodies that. With the light blue shirt contrasting with the suit’s grey, the balloon pants contrast with the jacket’s more structured, traditional fit. It makes the outfit perfect for a formal event, or for taking parts of the look for nights out, showing off its versatility.
13. Issey Miyake
Pale blue throughout the whole outfit could seem too bright, but the colour’s subtle nature makes it more aesthetically pleasing. The texture of the entire outfit creates layers throughout the body, making it stand out with the drama of the midsection while matching the elegance of the bodice.
