The Boys’ just-as-outrageous spin-off is back for its second season, and we’re in for a wild ride. Gen V’s premier season didn’t leave much to the imagination, but weaved a fascinating plot between the shocks. The story was enhanced with an even more riveting lineup of fresh actors, particularly Jaz Sinclair as Marie, Chance Perdomo as Andre, and London Thor and Derek Luh as fan-favourite Jordan Li, who were all stellar in their emotionally driven scenes.
We got an early look into the show’s anticipated second season, and while we aim to not spoil anything for fans, we do want to put some of your burning questions to rest in preparation for this new era of Gen V. What we can say is, it’s even better than before.
To whet your appetite, here’s a spoiler-free list of mysteries and questions we get answers to in Season Two:

1. Where the main crew ended up at the very end of last season
Season One ended with the infamous showdown on Godolkin campus. Cate (Maddie Phillips), on her mind control rampage, was stopped by Marie, who herself was then quickly apprehended and blasted by Homelander’s laser. We woke up with a recovering Marie in a mysterious closed-off room, surrounded by her superhero friends.
We learn very quickly in this new season that this was Elmira, mentioned but not shown (beyond the closing scene) in Season One. This is not to be confused with the Woods, which was an evil experiment facility underneath the school. Surprise! Elmira is even worse.
2. What happened to Cate and Sam
So, the only two not included in the Elmira captures were Cate and Sam (Asa Germann). This is not too surprising. While every character in the show can be considered at least a bit morally grey, Cate took things too far against her friends for her Supe (the franchise’s name for superheroes) supremacy views. Sam, broken and unstable, fell onto Cate’s side of morals, and the two were spared from Elmira.
We learn in The Boys’ Season Four and Gen V Season Two that they’ve become a bit of a duo, even appearing as the new main faces for the school and ranking above others. Cate, in her newfound glory, has become a bit of celebrity at the school.
3. The tragic passing of Chance Perdomo is addressed by the show
We won’t disclose how, because that defeats the purpose of this spoiler-free list. But we can say that our beloved Andre is given his proper exit, and the fabulous Chance Perdomo will be dearly missed by his fans and fans of the show.
4. What happens to Godolkin University
In real life, a school used as a front for drug testing to kill off its students and all super beings alike would get shut down very quickly. But this is fiction land, and Godolkin is still standing, baby!
God U is taken over by Cipher, a mysterious Dean attributed by his no-nonsense attitude. His true power levels are just as enigmatic as his personality.
Where things go from there and what else happens to the school is for you to find out.
5. We finally get more clarity about Marie’s family and background
It’s very satisfying to know more about Marie Moreau. The first season’s finale showed her finally embracing her blood-bending powers. If there was any doubt left that she could be one of the most powerful Supes in The Boys’ cinematic universe, Season Two would dispel them.
Our hero’s background, amongst others’, is beautifully laid out for needy viewers. Gen V Season Two certainly answers many questions, and by the time you finish watching, you’ll have a few fresh ones.
Gen V Season Two is available to watch on Prime Video.
