KATSEYE’s Lara Raj Appears In The New York Times’ Crossword Puzzle

On 2nd March, The New York Times launched the Midi, its daily digital-only crossword puzzle. KATSEYE fans were delighted to find that Lara Raj, one of the girl group’s members, was one of the answers to its 3rd March iteration.

“____ Raj, member of the girl group KATSEYE,” the puzzle hinted. Her father Sri Rajagopalan, known as “Papa Raj” by fans, was proud of Lara in a public LinkedIn post. “So many people sent me this late night tonight (Tuesday edition),” he said of the puzzle.

Apart from being a KATSEYE member, Lara has been flexing her production and acting skills too. In June 2025, she was credited for producing a remix of KATSEYE’s polarising hit “Gnarly” alongside Lancey Foux and Slush Puppy. Her pop star sister Rhea Raj also revealed in an interview with MTV that Lara co-wrote and co-produced “Now That Ur Gone”, a sleek R&B-pop cut from Rhea’s August 2025 mini-album Commotion.

Lara, who is openly queer, was also featured in GLAAD’s year-end 20 Under 20 roster, celebrating notable young queer people aged 20 and below. Most recently, she made her acting debut as rapper Baby Keem’s love interest in his “Birds & The Bees” music video in February 2026.
