Three words my friends would use to describe me are… In the words of my oldest most cherished friend who I’d actually call a sister I am “Clumsy, persistent and loud”. She followed this up with some kinder words but honestly that about sums it up, haha.

My favourite place in the world is… I’m terrible at favourites. And I don’t really return to the same place that often. But South London will always be my home. I could never live north of the river and honestly when I’m here I find it hard to leave my postcode.

One thing you must know about me is… Cats over dogs every time.

One surprising thing about me is… I’m far more sentimental than first meets the eye. If you have ever given me a card there is a 99% chance I still have it.

Something I can’t live without is… Friends and family that remind you who you are and what you are worth.

My favourite dish/meal is… Going out, neapolitan style pizza followed by tiramisu. At home, my mum’s mutton biriyani.

My favourite thing from working on 1984 is… It’s cliché but the people. Everyone’s so lovely and we have a little ritual of bringing in sweets and having a gab in the break room before the show.

What I hope resonates the most with the audience from 1984 is… Love may not triumph all, but it is worth being true to yourself regardless.

One behind-the-scenes fun fact or story from 1984 is… While the audience are getting seated I’m stuck in a cupboard waiting to go on jamming out to music. So if you come seethe play as you enter the atrium if you listen closely you might be able to hear me singing Defying gravity.

A song I would recommend right now is… The entire Moulin Rouge soundtrack. I love a jukebox musical and I think the mash ups they have done for it are 1000/10.

A TV show/movie I would recommend right now is… My Lady Jane. I’m so annoyed it got cancelled but it’s still worth it.

The last dream I had was… I barely ever remember my dreams. But a reoccurring nightmare I had as a child featured my primary school recorder teacher, an alien villain and escaping in a hot air balloon. Make of that what you will.

One piece of advice I would give my younger self is… You are going to keep making mistakes but eventually you’ll learn and make new mistakes. Enjoy!

What I love most about my heritage is… I come from a family of rule breakers. I feel like I have so many relatives that in there time pushed the boundaries o fwhat was expected of them. My mum always pushed me to try new things and made me think I was capable of anything. She grew up in India, gave up her dreams at the time to get married and provide for her family. She was an indian woman in consulting back in the 90’s – a single parent – and never made anything seem impossible. Since then she has started her own business, provided for me and my brother and never limited me.

You’re in a zombie apocalypse; what is your weapon of choice, and why? Depends on the zombies. The knowledge of an antidote that reverses the zombeism, or at least stops them from wanting to eat living people.

To me, diversity means… Walking into a room and not feeling like the odd one out.
