BLACKPINK member Rosé makes history as the first K-Pop artist to win at the BRIT Awards 2026! She won “International Song of the Year” at the 46th ceremony for “APT.”, her collaboration with Filipino-American singer Bruno Mars.
Accepting the award on stage in Manchester, Rosé thanked her fellow BLACKPINK members. “Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa, I love you so much. Thank you for always inspiring me,” She said, adding that “it is such an honour to be receiving this award in front of so many talented and admirable musicians here in the UK.”
Rosé acknowledged Mars, saying she was accepting the award on behalf of them both: “Thank you so much for everything, for being my biggest mentor and best friend. Love you so much.”
“APT.” was also nominated at the Grammy Awards for “Record of the Year”, “Song of the Year”, and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance”.
Rosé released her debut solo album Rosie, in December 2024. The record features the singles “Number One Girl” and “Toxic ‘Till the End”. With her group with BLACKPINK returned in February 2026 with the new extended play (EP) Deadline.
The BRIT Awards are widely regarded as the UK’s most prominent music awards ceremony. First held in 1977, they became an annual event in 1982 under the auspices of the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). The ceremony was renamed in BRIT Awards in 1989. The American multinational payment card service Mastercard has been a long-standing sponsor. Over the years, the BRIT awards have produced several moments in British pop culture. These include the final public appearance of Freddie Mercury, a protest by Jarvis Cocker during a performance by “Kings of Pop” Michael Jackson. and a high profile feud between English rock band Oasis and Britpop band Blur.
